foxBMS 2 version 1.9.0 available
We are happy to announce that the bugfix release of foxBMS 2 version 1.9.0 is available on GitHub.
This release
- ships the BMS-Master v1.2.3-0, which fixed a population variant-related inconsistency watchdog’s power supply.
- centralizes the toolchain installation to simplify management and future updates. The installation prefix for Windows is now set to
C:\foxbms
, while for Linux it is/opt/foxbms
. As part of this installation update, all tools have been updated. - adds support for building on Linux, along with documentation on how to build libraries.
- adds a dedicated BMS-Slave configuration file.
- enhances the
fox CLI
including the addition of commands such asetl
,plot
,log
, andbms
and thebootloader
command. This will enable us to release the embedded bootloader in the next release. - provides basic TCP support with the inclusion of the
FreeRTOS-Plus-TCP
library, which will allow enhanced communication capabilities within the BMS in the next update. To enable this feature FreeRTOS has been updated to version V11.1.0. - improves the unit test suits for the embedded sources as well as the
fox CLI
.
This release contributes the first parts of the foxBMS feature highlights in early 2025.
We publish major software releases for our open source BMS platform every 3 to 6 months and interim bug fixes when solved in the News section.
